Writing and Performance Workshops

Send to friendYouth Speaks Seattle offers an array of writing and performance workshops, usually led by pairs of mentors and Spokes members, that can be tailored to any age group and experience level.
We have taught in nearly all Seattle public high schools, as well as at community organizations. We have also led numerous teacher trainings and out-of-town workshops reaching from Bellingham, to Tacoma, to Yakima, WA.
Possible topics range from Intro to Poetry and Self-Expression, to Youth Empowerment through Spoken Word, to Hip-Hop Lyricism, to anti-oppression/anti-violence curriculums.
