Spokes is a board of 10-12 youth ages 13-20 who are responsible for much of Youth Speaks Seattle's programming and decision-making. As a Spokes member, youth have the opportunity to write and perform as members of an artistic community, plan and organize events and workshops, shadow professional teaching artists, and learn leadership, teamwork and camaraderie. Spokes also serve as the organization's public ambassadors, promoting poetry and Youth Speaks Seattle events among their respective communities.
Spokes members meet weekly, the group is free to join, and you can get community service or internship credit as well as one-on-one poetry mentorship. Positions currently available.
Please contacts our Spokes Coordinator, Robin Park, for more details.
